This summer, encourage your child to spend 5–10 minutes a day practicing: ➕ Addition Facts (through 20) ✖️ Multiplication Facts (0–12)
When students know their math facts automatically, they can spend less time figuring out basic facts and more time solving challenging math problems, building confidence, and succeeding in the classroom.
We’ve included a few printable addition and multiplication fact tables that you can use at home. Try some fun ways to practice: ⭐ Have a family fact challenge. ⭐ See how many facts your child can answer in one minute. ⭐ Cover up answers and quiz each other. ⭐ Practice while driving, cooking dinner, or waiting in line.
Remember, consistency beats long study sessions—just a few minutes each day helps keep those math skills sharp!

Today was all about recognizing the hard work and success of our students who demonstrated proficiency in reading and math!
Students enjoyed a variety of special activities throughout the day, including our Breakfasts & the Arts celebration featuring bead bracelet making, woven friendship bracelets, drawing, coloring, and a lively dance party. They also had the opportunity to enjoy extra recess with our amazing student volunteers from Laurel High School and cool off with ice pops.
Students who achieved proficiency in both reading and math earned a special bowling field trip to Bryan’s Bowling Center. We are incredibly grateful to Bryan’s Bowling Center for being such wonderful hosts and helping make this celebration memorable for our students.
We are proud of the dedication, perseverance, and growth our students have shown throughout the year. Congratulations to all of our readers, mathematicians, and learners—we loved celebrating your success today! 🎳📚➕🎉
Today, our students had the opportunity to enjoy the harvest from our LES Healthy Food for Healthy Kids Garden! Students sampled fresh spinach, lettuce, snap peas, sorrel, and Swiss chard that were grown right here on our playground. It was a wonderful opportunity for students to see the connection between gardening, healthy eating, and the food that ends up on their plates.
A special thank you to Casey Bernal, who oversees the nutritional needs of our schools, and our outstanding School Nutrition team, led by Norma Jean Massey, for preparing and serving today’s harvest. We are also grateful to Kim Ralph, Laurel School Board Member and owner of My Turn to Cook, for spending time with our students, helping distribute samples and stickers, and supporting this special event. Thank you as well to Andrea Yoder, Director of School Nutrition for the Laurel School District, for helping make the day a success. Nathan Stewart, our Program Coordinator from HFHK, was a wonderful guide through the entire process. Experiences like these help our students learn the value of healthy choices while celebrating the rewards of their hard work in the garden. 🌿💚
Today is a wonderful day in our Healthy Food for Healthy Kids garden as our students roll up their sleeves and celebrate Harvest Day! From planting and caring for the garden to harvesting fresh vegetables, our Bulldogs have learned firsthand the value of teamwork, responsibility, and healthy living.
Students are excited to harvest fresh produce while seeing the results of all their hard work throughout the season. Experiences like these help our students connect learning beyond the classroom while growing healthy habits that can last a lifetime.
